New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers says he will use doubters as motivation in his rehabilitation from Achilles tendon surgery and indicates he will play football again — perhaps even this season.

Rodgers tore his left Achilles tendon in the fourth snap of his debut with his new team on Monday night, a 22-16 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills.

The four-time NFL MVP underwent surgery Wednesday in Los Angeles.

“I guess what I would say is, give me the benefit of the doubt,” Rodgers said in an appearance. ESPN “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday.

“Give me the timelines. Give me all the things that you think can or should happen or will happen because all I need is that little extra percentage of inspiration. That’s all I need.”

“My entire focus and dedication is on getting as much information as possible,” Rodgers said. “Then add to what you’ve already put together a very good rehabilitation plan which I think will shock some people.”

Rodgers did not set any timetable for his return, but he made it clear that he intends to play football again. He was asked if he meant this season — if the Jets make the playoffs.

“I’m not going to make any of those statements,” Rodgers said. “I don’t feel like it’s fair to me. I think, like Kevin Garnett said, anything is possible.”
