Aero the Acrobat It was first released for the SEGA Genesis on August 1, 1993, and has since been ported to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy Advance.

Here’s an overview of the game, via Ratalaika Games:

About

The original Aero the Acrobat Bat It was released in 1993 on Super Nintendo and Mega Drive / SEGA Genesis and players will be able to enjoy and immerse themselves in the first of this Aero series that still looks and plays fantastically nearly 30 years after its first release, making it Aero A special game that you can’t miss.

Aero to the rescue

It’s up to Aero the Acrobat, the circus’ star performer, to rescue his friends and his girlfriend Ariel, and put a stop to Edgar Ektor’s crazy plans so everyone can enjoy the show again!

Powerful and eccentric industrialist Edgar Ektor has sworn to destroy the entertainment world as revenge for being kicked out of the circus as a child after one of his pranks went too far and nearly killed a circus animal. He began by invading a local circus with his gang of crazy clowns and kidnapping the entire circus staff in order to ruin the show.

A challenge to become the best

Aero the Acrobat Bat This is NOT your typical platformer where you simply progress from the beginning to the goal. Players will need to use Aero’s abilities in specific ways to achieve objectives in each stage, and this sets the game apart from many platformers before or after it. Aero It also comes from an era where games were famous for being challenging, and the Aero series in particular has always been known for its challenging difficulty. Those who can beat these games can truly consider themselves platforming masters! But fear not, if it’s too much for you, this new version includes cheats to make things a little easier!

Play to win

AeroAero’s screen displays a health bar, and each stage starts with a number of hit points that can be added by collecting items. However, he loses a hit point every time he takes damage from an enemy, which is a lot, and loses a life when he loses all hit points. Hazards, such as spikes and lava, cost Aero a life regardless of his health meter. Aero can gain more health and more lives by finding items in stages, and also gains an additional life for every 20,000 points earned. Stages are timed, but the remaining time is used for bonus points, and there is no penalty for running out of time. Aero gains an additional life for completing a “perfect round” (collecting all items in the stage and finding the exit before time runs out).
