The new Star Wars Jedi: Survivor brings us an authentic experience of what it is to be a Jedi in the post-republic era of the Empire. Lightsabers are a trademark of the Jedi order. They are potent tools requiring great skill and are highly customizable to fit the wielder’s fighting style. They can differ from each other by the color of the light beam to the shape of the hilt – my personal favorite being the Assaj Ventress curved grip, dual lightsaber set. Unfortunately, while I couldn’t make the replica of that particular lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the game still brings a lot of customization options to the table.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor lightsaber customization explained
To customize your lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you must first obtain access to the workbench aboard Mantis, your ship. You will gain access to your ship after escaping Coruscant in the game’s first act. Once you navigate to the lightsaber customization option in your workbench, you will find three main customizable sections:
- Blade
- Components
- Materials

Changing the Blade section on a lightsaber
The Blade section will allow you to change your lightsaber blade color. Changing the blade color won’t impact the lightsaber’s performance since it’s purely cosmetic. The keen-eyed among you will notice that there is no red color, much to my disappointment, as it is typically reserved for the Dark Side of the Force wielders. All the colors will be available to you right from the start:
- orange
- blue
- yellow
- indigo
- white
- purple
- magenta
- green
- cyan
Changing the Components section on a lightsaber
Cal Kestis uses a double-sided model of a lightsaber, meaning it has two emitters, two grips, and a single connecting pommel. In the Components section of lightsaber customization, you will be able to change the looks of the lightsaber itself. There are multiple parts manufacturers, like Jaro Tapal, which is the default choice you start the game with. During the game, you can obtain more different parts by looting chests. You will also be able to select Obi-Wan Kenobi Hermit Lightsaber set if you have the Deluxe edition of the game.
Changing the Materials section on a lightsaber
Changing the materials from which your lightsaber was made allows you to customize further the appearance of your primary tool of the trade. Besides the default factory metal, you can make your lightsaber look more traditional using wood, leather, and more materials. You can also set its condition to look old and deteriorated, should you prefer the more rustic and rugged look.
