Capcom Next Recap: Dead Rising Remaster gameplay and release date, Kunitsu-gami demo, and a small tease for the next Resident Evil

Capcom Next was a more brief affair this summer. It focused on providing updates for just three titles: Kunitsu-gami: Path of the Goddess, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and the iOS/Mac port of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Here is a brief summary of each announcement.

Kunitsu-gami: The Path of the Goddess

The awesome action-strategy hybrid game is getting a demo later today on all platforms it’s launching on. The demo will feature crossover content with Okami in the form of main character and maiden themed weapons and costumes. Interestingly, the Okami content is only visible in the demo, but Capcom says that if enough players play it, these items will become available in the full game launched via an update.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

The remaster of the 2006 zombie romp arrives on September 19 (the physical version arrives in November). We’ve got our first look at the game and several graphical “before/after” comparison shots that show just how dramatic the presentation improvements really are. The game runs at 4K 60FPS and has real-time lighting that changes with the time of day. Gameplay improvements include the ability to move while aiming, an autosave feature, a better UI, and improved NPC behavior. Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard on iOS and Mac

The latest RE Mobile port has improved touch controls and a new auto-aim/auto-fire feature for those who want extra help. Menu and inventory are now touch compatible. Capcom reveals that the first section of the game will be free-to-play, allowing players to try it out before committing to a purchase.

Additionally, Capcom confirms what was already clear: a new Resident Evil is in development. RE7 director Koshi Nakanishi is at the helm and said, “It was really hard to figure out what to do after 7. But I figured it out, and to be honest, it’s substantial. I can’t share any details yet, but I hope you’re excited for the day when I can. “
