Netflix’s Marvel shows DaredevilJessica JonesThe PunisherLuke CageIron Fist and The Defenders are landing on Disney+ in Canada.

All six titles will be available to stream on March 16. This news follows the surprise announcement that the Marvel shows were being pulled from Netflix at the end of February. It’s currently unclear what the plan is for viewers in the United States.

Marvel’s line of Netflix shows kicked off in 2015 with Daredevil and soon expanded with Jessica JonesIron Fist and Luke Cage, with the four series coming together for The Defenders in 2017. The Punisher, meanwhile, spun out of Daredevil Season 2.

While each of the Marvel Television-produced shows was said to be connected to the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe, the relationship only seemed to work one way — the shows would make reference to the films, but not vice versa. This led many to question the longevity of Netflix’s Marvel universe as the MCU proper continued to expand.

In October 2018, things began to crumble when both Iron Fist and Luke Cage were canceled after their respective second seasons. Daredevil followed in November after Season 3, with The Punisher and Jessica Jones getting the ax in February 2019 after Seasons 2 and 3, respectively. By the end of the year, Marvel Television had been dissolved and folded into Marvel Studios under Kevin Feige, and it was reported that the characters from the Marvel Netflix shows would remain in limbo for the next two years due to previous agreements.

Of course, in the time since then, certain characters have been brought into the MCU — namely, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, who appeared in Hawkeye, and Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil, who appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While Kingpin’s fate is unclear, considering he was seemingly killed by Echo, Feige confirmed future plans for Daredevil in December 2021.

“If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil,” he explained. “Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”

“I feel so lucky to have been cast in that role and it is the gift that keeps on giving,” Cox recently said while discussing his MCU future. ” I loved every single minute of making the show. And so, to be asked to come back and to be involved in any capacity is absolutely thrilling to me. And I hope, I don’t want to sound greedy, but I hope I get to do loads more. I hope I get to be involved way, way more for many years. I hope it never ends. I hope it gets to the point where people are like, ‘You are too old to be playing this part.'”
