Miami-based 777 Partners is close to agreeing a deal to take over Everton.
Multi-club investors have been in discussions with Farhad Moshiri, Everton’s majority shareholder, since news that New York group MSP Sports Capital had ended its exclusive agreement with Moshiri.
The 777 Group already has a number of football clubs in its portfolio including Sevilla, Hertha Berlin and Standard Liège, with fans of the Belgian team holding a demonstration criticizing their involvement in their recent match.
The move by 777 would be a full takeover, once all Premier League requirements are met, which could take several months to complete.
