Fable 4 Developers are looking for a Producer to join the team

Fable’s lead game designer, Hervé Gengler, recently shared on Twitter that the team at Playground Games is looking for a new producer to join their ranks and continue working on the long-awaited Fable IV, the news comes just months after the game’s producer, Vijay Gill, introduced a little insight In game development via LinkedIn. According to Gill, he has been “attending and facilitating regular playthroughs and building reviews with key stakeholders”, indicating that Fable 4 is progressing well and is currently in a playable state.

As mentioned in the job listing, Playground Games, a first-party Xbox Game Studio, is known for creating accessible, beautiful, and fun games that define the genre. The studio is excited to reboot the beloved Fable franchise and is looking forward to expanding their diverse team to create a new classic in the action-RPG genre. The role they are currently looking to fill, according to the job listing, is that of the skilled and experienced Producer for the Fable team, who will be working on an open world action RPG project.

The ideal candidate they are looking to recruit will have an understanding of art, design and technical fundamentals, as well as experience in risk management. They will be responsible for driving the delivery of high quality features using modern development methodologies and collaborating with all disciplines. This permanent role will be based out of the state of the art Playground Games facilities at the Royal Leamington Spa.

In January 2018, rumors began circulating that Playground Games was developing a new Fable game, with the studio hiring 177 for the open-world role-playing game. The game was officially announced during the Xbox Game Show in July 2020, with a planned release for Xbox Series X, Series S, and Microsoft Windows. Fable 4 will run on the Forza series’ internal game engine, ForzaTech. In November 2021, it was revealed that Eidos-Montréal had joined the project as a co-developer.
