Hogwarts Legacy – Why can’t I get Broom Upgrade 2?

Flying on a broom is something every Harry Potter fan can relate to, and after unlocking the ability to fly in Hogwarts Legacy, I took my Broom for a trip across the regions to unlock most of the fast travel points on the map. However, while flying I realized that the Broom’s speed wasn’t up to the mark and that upgrading my Broom would make it feel much better. The broom is essentially the vehicle you’ll use not just for transport, but also for completing quests. But to achieve your goals, you must improve your flying tool. While the first upgrade is easy to get, many players face an issue with Hogwarts Legacy Broom Upgrade 2.

Here’s how to get the Broom Upgrade 2 in Hogwarts Legacy.

How to get Hogwarts Legacy Broom Upgrade 2

We have a solution if you’re experiencing a broom upgrade bug in Hogwarts Legacy. Although it does seem like a bug, the solution is straightforward. To get Broom Upgrade 2 in Hogwarts Legacy, you must complete the “In the Shadow of Mine” mission that’s part of the main quest. That’s when Broom Upgrade 2 will be unlocked. But the broom won’t just upgrade on its own! Here’s what you need to do to upgrade your mount:

  • Complete the Flight Test quest.
  • To do that, you must win the second flying time trial against Imelda Reyes.
  • Head to Alabie Weekes, the owner of Spintwitches Sporting Needs shop in Hogsmeade. It’s the place where you can buy and improve brooms in Hogwarts Legacy.
  • Inform him of your trial’s success and he’ll begin working on the broom upgrade.
  • Complete the In the Shadow of Mine quest, which is part of Sebastian’s quest line, to unlock the Broom Upgrade 2. You’ll also get an owl when the upgrade becomes available for purchase.
  • Now you’re ready for the third race, which unlocks the Broom Upgrade 3.

Although the Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world game, this is still a single-player game where your progress is connected to your main quest progress. If you get stuck again with some updates or have an area that’s locked, try advancing the main story first.
