How to create shelter in Aliens Dark Descent – Reducing Stress

Stress is part of the Xenomorph experience, as facing them (pun intended) is unpleasant. In Aliens: Dark Descent, marines tend to berserk if driven to the edge by those foul creatures. That’s why one of my mission priorities was to keep my soldier focused. But after a couple of waves of Aliens, stress kept creeping in. There are several solutions for reducing stress; arguably, the most effective is shelter. Here’s how to create shelter in Aliens: Dark Descent.

You must weld the room doors to create shelter in Aliens: Dark Descent. That way, you’ll be sure you’re safe, and that xenomorphs can’t reach you. The shelter works as a camp for resting in RPG titles). But you can only create a shelter in certain areas. Those places are usually marked as a green house icon on the map. But welding is not free, as you need to use a welding tool.

If you don’t have it, you can’t create shelter. In that case, you must find other ways to reduce stress in Aliens: Dark Descent. As you know, in space, no one can hear you scream, and you’re on your own in this game. So yeah, stress can creep in.

Stress-reducing alternatives to shelter in Aliens Dark Descent

There are several ways to reduce stress in Aliens: Dark Descent, besides building a shelter:

  • Naproleve pills – Marines have them in inventory. Taking pills reduces stress by 100 points.
  • Reprimand ability – Sergent can use Reprimand skill to make marines immune to stress for 30 seconds, essentially saving them from falling apart while Aliens attack.
  • Bravery – this won’t fix stress, but it will make marines more resilient.
