How to get Cocobolo Lumber in FFXIV

[ad_1]

There’s almost hundreds of different types of lumber and wood materials in Final Fantasy XIV, so when something as obscure as Cocobolo Lumber is needed in a recipe, you know you’re in trouble. We scoured Eorzea looking for this item, and have the answers for you: Here’s how to get Cocobolo Lumber in FFXIV.

How to find Cocobolo Lumber in FFXIV

Cocobolo Lumber is an incredible rare material that is only available from the Submersible Voyages added in Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. You’ll first need to have a free company house, and a submersible. You’ll need to send it on expeditions to the appropriate location and then you’ll have a random chance of receiving some Cocobola Lumber, although the drop rate is very small.

Which submarine ventures return with Cocobolo Lumber?

The following ventures have a chance to return Cocobolo Lumber:

  • Anthemoessa
  • Coldtoe Isle
  • Moergynn’s Forge
  • Sea of Ash 1
  • Sea of Ash 2
  • Sirensong Sea 2
  • South Isle of Zozonan
  • Tangaroa’s Prow
  • The Lone Glove
  • The Open Robe
  • Thrall’s Unrest
  • Wreckage of the Windwalker

In addition, Cocobolo Lumber only drops drops from Clear and Calm weather conditions. This means your submersible will require a high Surveillance stat. The minimum required is 145, but to be safe, we recommend 160.

Best way to get Cocobolo Lumber?

Cocobolo Lumber is one of the most difficult to obtain materials currently in the game. In most cases, the best way to get this item is to almost forget about it. Many of the more advanced housing, submersible and airship designs need hundreds of pieces of Pure Titanium Ore, Cryptomeria Logs, etc. While you’re gathering these materials, you might just get lucky.

Of course, Cocobolo Lumber is also marketable and tradable, but Market Board prices mean it often veers into the several million gil territory!
