Former Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales has been banned from coming within 200 meters of Gini Hermoso, as the World Cup-winning side announced it would boycott UEFA Nations League matches next week.

The investigating judge of the Spanish Supreme Court imposed the restraining order after Rubiales appeared in court for investigation on charges of sexual assault for kissing Hermoso on the lips.

The incident, which occurred during a medal ceremony after Spain’s women’s national team won the World Cup in Australia last month, sparked an uproar about sexism in sport and Spanish society and sparked protests similar to the “Me Too” movement.

On Friday afternoon, players from the Spanish women’s national team issued a statement saying they would continue their boycott.
