Meta Quest Gaming Showcase 2023 sets the premiere for June

metaThe virtual reality giant behind the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro VR headsets has announced that the new Meta Quest Gaming Showcase is officially scheduled for June 1, 2023. There will be exclusive game reveals and โ€œand more,โ€ hinting at other possible updates such as DLC and ports.

The Meta will include both a pre-show and a post-show, but the official showcase starts at 10am PT. Fans can tune in to the new preview at 9:45 AM PT, which is expected to include “more trailers.” After the show, the VR content creators will help break down all the revelations, but specific names haven’t been confirmed.

There was a short cinematic teaser of the show on the Meta Quest YouTube channel, though it doesn’t reveal anything in particular:

Meta has already held several game shows. Over the past couple of years, Meta Gaming’s 2021 and 2022 game show lasted about half an hour, and only featured a handful of games. Fans can probably expect more of the same, though the pre- and post-show could add new material.

Tightly paced and focused on games rather than actual hardware, these presentations appealed to fans compared to traditional technology-driven presentations. Hopefully there will be some welcome surprises like Among Us VR Trailer from last year.

It appears that the new introductory trailer may be reserved for simpler honorable mentions, though the trailers are promised. But it’s still not clear how important the pre-show will be, as the 2021 show kicked off with Resident Evil 4 advertisement.

MetaQuest recently brought out version 53 in a new blog and accompanying tweet last week, so it will be interesting if the show includes more about platform features like those:
