NetherRealm Studios’ latest 2D fighter, Mortal Kombat 1, is just around the corner. The premium and collector editions of the game will go live this Thursday, September 14th, and the regular edition will go live next week on September 19th. Ahead of the game’s release, NetherRealm has released the official launch trailer, featuring four minutes of new gameplay, casualties, gore, and more.

Today’s trailer also features a first look at Shang Tsung’s gameplay, more of the story you’ll get if you pre-order the game, which focuses on the rebooted Mortal Kombat universe through the second-Reiko of Fire God Liu Kang and General Shao. in-command. Check it out for yourself below:

Shang Tsung is still a mage, and his movements in the trailer reflect his ability to morph into flaming projectiles, massive duos, and other fighters. Raikou, on the other hand, is described by Nether Realm as “a ferocious warrior with a fighting style that matches his ferocious personality.” Elsewhere in the trailer, we get a new look at other fighters from the roster, such as Jean-Claude Van Damme’s skin for Johnny Cage and the recently revealed Nitara voiced by Megan Fox.

Mortal Kombat 1 will hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC on September 14 for the Premium and Collector’s Editions of the game. The rest of the versions will go live on September 19.
