Noriaki Okamura, producer of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater: ‘I would like nothing more than to work with Hideo Kojima again’

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Production producer Noriaki Okamura would “like nothing more” than to work with metal gear Series creator Hideo Kojima and the original metal gear team again, said the first officer “metal gear Today the “Production Hotline” video was published.

“It’s not my place to respond on behalf of anyone outside the company, or to guess how they will feel about it,” Okamura said. “But speaking for me personally, I would like nothing more than to work with Mr. Kojima and the rest of the team again. “If that could happen, that would be the dream.”

Okamura noted that Kojima and others have moved on to new things and have new commitments, so Konami can’t depend on them or set expectations for them to return.

Okamura also said that Kojima and the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Development staff will be given credit for their original roles in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterjust as they were in Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1.

The discussion about Kojima was part of a small set of user-submitted questions that appear at the end of the video. Here’s the full set of questions and answers:

Is there any possibility of original staff members returning to work on, co-develop or oversee any of the projects? Metal gear series?

Noriaki Okamura, production producer: “Wow, okay. I can see we’re starting off with a tough one, huh? Well, it’s not for me to answer for anyone outside the company, or guess how they’ll feel about it. But speaking for myself personally, I’d love nothing more than to work with Mr. Kojima and the rest of the team again. If that could happen, that would be the dream. But people have moved on to new things and new commitments, and that’s just our current reality. We can’t just take for granted that everyone will come back to work with us or be completely dependent on them. I just don’t think it’s right for us to be the ones to make that kind of demand of anyone. So we work with the expectation that whatever we do is up to us, it’s on our shoulders to do a good job.

“But on a related note, since we had a lot of questions about this, Mr. Kojima and all the original development staff are, of course, credited with their original roles. They were already included in the [Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1]and will be listed in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater “They are also part of these games, so they are absolutely in.”

All the characters in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Does it have the same voices as the original? Will there be new interpretations?

Okamura: “In both Japanese and English, the game’s story and all voices will be the same. We definitely didn’t make any casting changes. However, and this is something that is seen a lot in Metal gear, but the characters will give you tips on how to play, especially the controls. But some of those lines don’t match the consoles’ controls now, and you can’t really have that, so we’ve recorded new versions of just those lines. And unfortunately, some members of the original cast are no longer with us, or could not be available to record, so in those cases we made sure we had permission first, then we reviewed and used their existing recordings to cut the new lines.”

Who is involved in the development of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake EaterAre you using any external studios?

Okamura: “I think we mentioned this briefly in our last episode, but we still have a lot of the same people who worked on the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater as part of the team. And we are also working with several people from external partners. In particular, we are working closely with the highly skilled team at Virtuos, who previously helped us on other projects. metal gear titles as well. They are helping us on a number of fronts, especially since we are creating this game in Unreal Engine 5, rather than the FOX Engine we have been using up until now. Their expertise in that area has been a huge help. We are very happy to have them working with us.”

When you decided on a remake title, why did you start with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater?

Okamura: “Good, metal gearAs a series, it has a lot of ground to cover, but when we took a step back and looked at the saga as a whole, it seemed like the most logical thing to do was start with snake eaterAnd I know there are a lot of people who haven’t played a game. metal gear game before, and some of them probably just said, “do you want us to play?” 3first?” So I just want to assure everyone, don’t worry, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater It’s the perfect place to start. metal gear.”
