WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for the Season 1 finale of Peacemaker, streaming now on HBO Max.

Superman stand-in actor Brad Abramenko is hoping to make future appearances as the DC Extended Universe’s version of the Man of Steel following his cameo in the Season 1 finale of HBO Max’s Peacemaker.

On Instagram, Abramenko launched the hashtag #MySuperman as a way for his fans to show their support for his take on the iconic character. “Were you about to say something? Am I your Superman guys? If you want me to be, comment #MySuperman on my most recent posts and let’s get this going!” he wrote, tagging the official accounts for DC, HBO Max and Peacemaker. Abramenko also shared a video of himself in the Superman suit, writing, “Should I be back for Season 2 of Peacemaker?”

The eighth and final episode of Peacemaker Season 1, “It’s Cow or Never,” shocked DCEU fans with its inclusion of cameos by four members of the Justice League: Superman, Aquaman, the Flash and Wonder Woman. However, while DCEU mainstays Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller reprised their roles as Aquaman and the Flash, respectively, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot were not on-hand to play Superman and Wonder Woman.

Instead, the two characters were portrayed by body doubles, with Abramenko playing the Man of Steel and Kimberley von Ilberg playing the Princess of Themyscira. Actor Matt Turner was cast as the body double for Ben Affleck’s Batman, though both the Dark Knight and Cyborg (played in the DCEU by Ray Fisher) were cut from the Peacemaker finale. Addressing these characters’ exclusion from the finale, Peacemaker series creator James Gunn said, “You know, I don’t know what I can — there are reasons for it, but I’m actually uncertain whether I can say what those reasons are,” Gunn explained. “It might have to do with future stuff.”

At any rate, Abramenko was quick to celebrate his turn as the Man of Steel with a behind-the-scenes photo. “My dream came true when I became the 12th Superman,” he wrote on Instagram. “An honour to slip into [Henry Cavill’s] suit!” Interestingly enough, Abramenko actually isn’t the DCEU’s first Superman body double, with Ryan Handley donning Cavill’s suit to play the Man of Steel from the neck down in the 2019 film Shazam!.

All eight episodes of Peacemaker Season 1 are currently streaming on HBO Max. The series has been renewed for Season 2.
