Possible Spider-Man 2 story details have leaked

A recent post on 4chan, which was later shared on GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, on possible story details for the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game. As with any 4chan leak, information should be taken with caution, as the site is notorious for both legitimate and artificial leaks. However, some aspects of the leak seem plausible and have piqued the interest of fans seeking updates about the game. It’s already known that Venom will appear in the game, based on the 2021 reveal trailer.

The game is set to start with Peter Parker and Miles Morales searching for a serial killer, which foreshadows a later confrontation with Venom and Kraven. The Venom symbiote secretly attaches itself to Peter when he meets Mary Jane and Harry. Norman Osborn hires Craven regarding the symbiote’s and Miles’ abilities, but Craven later rejects the contract due to tactical limitations, angering Norman. Craven’s henchmen commit crimes to lure Peter and Miles into traps and ambushes.

Playable sections featuring Eddie Brock are included, with the developers addressing player feedback on the first game’s stealth aspects by reducing their prominence. These sections provide a unique perspective on New York City and Spider-Man’s villains through the eyes of the average person. The game also includes more scenes and character interactions without Peter or Miles present.

Developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation 5 console, in collaboration with PlayStation and Marvel Games, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the next installment in the popular franchise. Following the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the game reunites the Spider-duo for another action-packed chapter in the series. While much about the game is still unknown, the quality of the previous title suggests that fans can expect another engaging and original Spider-Man adventure.

The game is scheduled for release in Fall 2023 and will be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment on the PS5 platform.
