Raiden NOVA, the dual-stick shoot ’em up, announced for PS5, PS4 and Switch

MOSS has announced a twin-stick shooter Raiden NOVA For PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch. It will be released on October 31 in Japan for 4,800 yen. A limited-quantity special edition will also be available for 8,300 yen.

The special edition includes a CD with the original soundtrack supervised by Raiden Composer Go Sato series, acrylic block (Raiden-theme for Switch, Raiden II-theme for PlayStation 4, and Raiden DX-themed for PlayStation 5), a reversible cover, and a box illustrated by Hidetaka Tenjin.Raiden special box.

The first printed copies of the standard and special editions will include a reversible box design and a special sticker.

RaidenThe iconic 2D shooter is reborn as a 2D twin-stick shooter! Dodge attacks coming from all directions in a 360-degree angle and annihilate hordes of enemies!

Game modes

  • Arcade mode – An arcade-style mode in which the player progresses through six stages with the goal of defeating each stage’s boss.
  • Unlimited mode – A mode where you can challenge your limits and choose any stage to see how long you can survive.


  • Level up – When you gain a certain amount of experience points by destroying enemy ships and the like, you can level up and upgrade your skills. Skill upgrades appear randomly from three to four options in the “Primary Weapon,” “Options,” and “Boosts” categories, and you can choose one upgrade.
  • Main weapons – There are three main weapons: “Vulcan”, “Laser” and “Plasma”. The power and attack range change depending on the power-ups, and the maximum evolution can be achieved if the right conditions are met.
  • Option 1 – They follow the player’s ship and attack automatically at fixed intervals. Up to six can be equipped.
  • Option 2 – In addition to the Vulcan, Laser and Plasma options, there is a “Single” option, and each has multiple armaments.
  • Enhancers – Boosters can improve the ship’s attack power and durability, as well as its speed, luck, and more.
  • Items – Objects with different effects can also be used.
  • Missions – Rewards can be obtained by fulfilling certain conditions during a stage. If you clear a rare bonus mission, there is a high chance that you will enter a rush state where bonus missions may appear.
