Celtic player Amy Gallagher has been called up for the first time for the Scotland Women’s squad, while Chelsea midfielder Erin Cuthbert will miss the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.

The striker is part of Pedro Martinez Losa’s squad for matches against England and Belgium after impressing in the SWPL.

Cuthbert, who has 57 caps, is currently sidelined through injury but captain Rachel Corsi has been included following her return to fitness.

Milan striker Christie Grimshaw was also recalled after missing international friendlies in July.

There are eight SWPL players in Lusa’s latest squad, with Glasgow City’s Lee Gibson set to reach 50 caps if she plays in both matches.

Scotland will play England at the Stadium of Light on September 22 in their first meeting since the 2019 World Cup, when England won 2-1.

They will then face Belgium at Hampden Park on September 26.

The new competition follows the model set by UEFA with the Men’s Nations League and features 51 competing nations, divided into two leagues of 16 teams and one of 19 teams.
