Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that the first expansion for Diablo IV is called Vessel of Hatred and it will hit the game late next year. The Diablo team revealed the news during BlizzCon 2023 over the weekend, where we learned about three new World of Warcraft expansions and three new Overwatch 2 heroes coming to the game.

During BlizzCon 2023, Blizzard kept details of the Hatred ship light, saying it would share more details next summer. As for what to expect, it features a campaign that continues the dark story that began in Diablo IV. “Ship of Terror brings players back to learn the fate of arch-villain Mephisto and his diabolical plans for Sanctuary,” reads the press release. “Travel to the lush forests the locals call Nahantu.”

Blizzard says Vessel of Hatred will allow players to defeat new villains, explore new ways to kill demons and loot chests, and perhaps most excitingly traverse new exotic territory, with a whole new class “never seen before in the Diablo universe.”

And that’s all Blizzard shared about the Hate Ship. Diablo IV’s first expansion will come out in late 2024.
