The Last of Us Part I PC v1.0.5.0 Patch Notes and Update is now available

[ad_1]

The Last of Us Part I has received a new update, patch v1.0.5.0, and is now available for download. This update primarily focuses on performance improvements, reduced shader build times, and improved texture resolution at low and medium presets. Players should note that downloading this patch will result in a full shader rebuild.

To ensure optimum improvements, players are advised to update their drivers to the latest versions. As of the time this notes were posted, the latest releases are AMD Software Adrenalin Edition 23.4.3 and NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 531.79. The AMD update includes a fix for “longer than expected shader compilation time” in The Last of Us Part 1.

Major improvements brought by patch v1.0.5.0 include reduced shader build times, improved code for global CPU performance, and improved content to improve performance across several levels. The loading level has also been improved to help reduce the Please Wait and loading screens.

The update adds a new Effects Intensity setting, setting the intensity and number of visual effects not critical (found in Options > Graphics). Crowd sizes have been increased in the low and medium ambient character density settings, with the addition of a very low option (Options > Graphics).

Implemented additional scalability tuning for low and medium graphics settings in the game. The VRAM impact of texture quality settings has been reduced, allowing most players to increase texture quality settings or experience improved performance with their current settings.

The patch fixes several crash issues, including crashes at boot on Windows 11, crashes in Intel Arc, and crashes when starting a new game in Left Behind before completing the shader build. Other fixes include addressing an issue where pointing the camera at the ground while aiming would cause the trigger and camera to stutter visually, and correcting sniper sensitivity settings that do not apply to all ranged weapons.

The update also fixes an issue where players could not click Go Unbound when prompted in custom controls settings (Options > Controls > Input > Customize Controls) and resolves an issue with changing graphics settings (Options > Graphics > Graphics Setup previously) during gameplay will not restart the player at the correct checkpoint. Additionally, the patch addresses an issue where mods were not applied to the Lens Flare (Options > Graphics > Visual Effects Settings > Lens Flare).

Specific issues in the game have also been fixed, such as an issue in Pittsburgh where players would continually exit the world when restarting at the checkpoint in a bookstore, and a soft-lock issue in Left Behind when jumping into electrified water. AMD-specific optimizations for load times have been implemented, and the issue that it could take an abnormally long time to load has been resolved.
