The Witcher 3: Wild HuntAction-packed role-playing game Project RED CDreceived a new update today, Patch 4.03. This update brings a set of fixes for PC and PS5, as well as several mission and gameplay updates on all supported platforms.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Nintendo Switch players are expected to receive the latest update in the following months. CD Projekt RED also noted that the previous save file integration with Steam and GOG cloud, introduced in patch 3.6, will be replaced and upgraded in the upcoming patch on the Nintendo Switch version with New Cross Progression System that were introduced on other platforms with patch 4.00.

Here are the most important changes introduced by Update 4.03, as revealed in the magicianOfficial Website:

Computer

  • Fixed an issue where radiated plant shadows would “pop” with rays, depending on Geralt’s proximity and angle.
  • Fixed an issue where repeatedly disabling and enabling reflections and ray-traced shadows would cause black shadows to appear on the edge of objects.
  • Fixed issue where the DirectX 11 version of a game could crash on launch or after loading a save on certain AMD GPUs.
  • Added support for Intel Xe Super Sampling, an upgrade technology that uses machine learning to improve performance and image quality.
  • Fixed some lighting issues with screen area reflections when global ray tracing lighting was turned off.
  • Performance improvements for global ray-traced illumination and ray-traced reflections.
  • Fixed an issue where purple spots appeared on the screen when riding a Roach through puddles of water.

Control unit

  • The Cross Progression popup will now display which account is correctly signed in.
  • Fixed an issue where Geralt would see dark lines or shadows appear in the inventory screen when Performance Mode was enabled on PlayStation 5.
  • Fixed an issue where the game could freeze briefly or stutter when autosaving on next-gen consoles.
  • Addressed a performance drop on next-gen consoles while using the Witcher Senses in Beauclair and Novigrad.

Visual – PC & Next Generation Exclusive

  • Fixed an issue where a grid of light spots would appear on the floor and walls in certain weather conditions with Ray Tracing enabled.
  • Spider webs will no longer change color when moving the camera with Ray Tracing enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where some textures on characters would appear while clipping as not fully rendered.
  • through time and space – Fixed an issue where the fog in Poisoned Valley would appear pink instead of white.

Quests and Gameplay – PC and Next Gen Exclusive

  • Community mode added Next generation script fixes by Sergeanur.

Quests and Gameplay – Available on all platforms

  • In the shadow of eternal fire – Ambient music from the task will not continue to play after completion. For players who have already encountered this problem, it may be necessary to enter the streams of Novigrad or Oxenfurt again to solve it.
  • Added an option to automatically apply oils in combat.
  • With the exception of potions and extracts, it is now impossible for Geralt to eat or drink underwater.
