Blizzard reveals three new World of Warcraft expansions, starting with ‘The War Within’ next year

Blizzard Entertainment revealed three new World of Warcraft expansions this weekend during BlizzCon 2023, starting with The War Within, which launches next year. Midnight will follow that in the new Worldsoul saga, which the studio is calling an “ambitious creative effort in the Warcraft universe,” and will be followed by The Last Titan. Together, The War Within, Midnight, and The Last Titan make up the Worldsoul saga.

“Deep beneath the surface, an ancient Nerubian civilization is rising to power, aided by Xalatath, a vanguard of the Void first introduced in the Legion expansion,” reads the press release. “As players make their way deeper and discover a whole new world that has existed for centuries, players will need to enlist the help of the Earthan, a new allied race available to Team and Alliance players. On the horizon.”

In The War Within, set to launch in 2024, Blizzard says the level cap will be increased to 80 as players discover enemies, loot, new allies and more in new zones such as the surface-level Isle of Dorne, Industrial, and Industry. Two new playable races – Worgens and Goblins – join the fight between the Alliance and the Horde in Cataclysm Classic, with 85 new level caps, new zones, new power levels and more.

World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery

The final World of Warcraft news from this year’s BlizzCon event is Discovery Season, which will go live later this year. In Discovery Season, players embark on a new adventure where exploration and experimentation are key to unlocking new abilities for their characters. Plus, classic dungeons and world player-versus-player events give players the chance to test their newly acquired abilities as they roam the world in search of more things to discover.

Other World of Warcraft-related announcements at this year’s BlizzCon event include Hearthstone Battlegrounds Duos, “an exciting and truly collaborative way to approach the popular game mode in 2024,” according to Blizzard, and the full release of Warcraft Rumble, formerly known as Warcraft Arclight Rumble, on iOS and Android devices. .
