Publisher Cygames and developer Arc System Works have delayed Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising from its previously planned release date of November 30 to December 14. It will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC through Steam.
Here’s a message from creative director Tetsuya Fukuhara about the cause of the delay:
Cause of delay
After our first online beta was held in July, the development team went to great lengths to rework the game mechanics and battle layout in time for the initially scheduled release date. However, despite our best efforts, it has become clear to me that more time will be needed to put the finishing touches on the game.
Completing our adjustments to the game’s battle mechanics, we revealed the changes during our Balance and System Tweaks stream on October 20 and the first public playtest in the “Granblue Fantasy: Versus Official Tournament, vol. 7″ last weekend, where they had an overwhelmingly positive reception.
However, due to the number of modes that were affected by these changes, we found that the overall impact was much greater than anticipated and decided that in order to meet player expectations, we would need two more weeks of polishing and debugging to solve the problem. A truly high quality product. We regret to announce this as the second beta is just around the corner, but rest assured that the beta schedule itself has not changed.

Other dates affected
The emision of “granblue Showcase: Part 2 – Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising”, which was scheduled to premiere at the end of November, has been postponed until December 2. We will show the latest news about the game before its launch during this broadcast and will host a tournament with members of the development team.
