Insomniac Says Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 With New Game ‘Should Be Out Before Year’s End’

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is almost here – it hits PlayStation 5 for just one day on October 20th. We loved it – read on Game Informers Its review is here – and everyone is eager to get their hands on it. Yesterday we learned that Insomniac Games recommends that players download a day one patch for the “best experience” before starting the first mission, and now, we’ve learned when to expect the fan-favorite New Game Plus feature in the next installment.

As previously reported PlayStation Lifestyle, someone asked Insomniac Games Community Director James Stevenson if he was in the game at the New Game Plus and Mission Replay launch. Stevenson said, “No, we’re working on an update for those features but they won’t be there on Day 1.”

After someone on Twitter expressed their dismay at the answers, Stevenson clarified New Game Plus was not a Day 1 feature in the original Marvel’s Spider-Man, but instead the mode was added six weeks after launch.

Someone else asked Stevenson on Twitter if the new Game Plus was coming this year or 2024, and Stevenson said “should be before the end of the year.”

So if you’ve been looking forward to replaying Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 story with all your favorite suits, gadgets, abilities, and jump-unlocked content, it looks like that might just be a month or two away.
