NHL partners with Roblox – Offers new gameplay and free character items

The National Hockey League recently revealed that it has teamed up with Roblox, a global immersive platform, to launch it NHL explosion. This experience aims to connect the hockey community around the world through their shared passion for the sport, while attracting new fans with regular content updates. The game is designed to be easily accessible to audiences of all ages and locations.

NHL Blast, developed by metaverse development studio The Gang, transforms the traditional hockey game. In this reimagined version, teams of five players face off against each other, striving to score points in fantasy environments riddled with obstacles. One of these places is inspired by the NHL STREET initiative. The game includes creative skating and shooting mechanics, allowing players to mimic the movements of actual NHL players on the Roblox platform.

Users can express their fan base and personalize their experience through a variety of options. For example, players can wear the jerseys of any NHL club, complete with their Roblox username and custom number. In addition, users can design their own goalie masks and view the results of NHL games in real time on a suspended jumbotron. The Upper Deck Selfie Station allows players to snap photos of their digital avatar striking classic hockey poses, reminiscent of NHL trading cards.
