PlayStation 5 has shipped 46.6 million units worldwide, Sony announced in its financial results for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2023.
A total of 4.9 million PlayStation 5 units were shipped during the three months ended September 30, 2023, 1.6 million more than the same period in the previous fiscal year.
Here are a couple of additional statistics:
- There are 107 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network as of September 30, 2023, five million more than the 103 million active users during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
- PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 software combined sold 67.6 million units during the three months ending September 30, 2023, which is 5.1 million more than the 62.5 million software sold during the same period of the previous fiscal year. 4.7 million units were first-party titles, 1.9 million fewer than the 6.6 million units sold during the same period in the previous fiscal year. 67 percent of software sales were digital downloads of full game software, representing a four percent increase from the same period in the previous fiscal year.
