Steam Deck OLED Announced – Game Informer

Valve has unveiled the first updated iteration of Steam Deck. Dubbed simply the Steam Deck OLED, the new handheld features several technical and form factor improvements and will go on sale next week.

As the name suggests, the device has an HDR OLED screen to produce more vibrant colors. It also has a bigger battery for increased charging – 30-50% more battery life depending on the game, Valve points out that the OLED screen uses less power.

The device also features an updated and more efficient AMD APU and Wifi 6E, resulting in three times faster downloads for increased bandwidth and lower latency. Steam Deck OLED thanks to its larger fan and improved thermals. Overall, the device is 5% lighter than the original model.

Steam Deck OLED will be available on November 16. It comes in three models based on storage and add-ons, including a limited edition variant featuring a different color scheme. Here’s a breakdown of the specs and price of each:

Once it’s launched, Steam Deck OLED becomes the default Steam Deck, as Valve ditches the original LCD models. Likewise, first-generation Steam decks are permanently discounted: $349 for the 64GB LCD, $399 for the 256GB LCD, and $449 for the 512GB LCD. These models are available while stocks last.
