The Joker, voiced by Mark Hamill, joins the multiverse

A new trailer reveals that the Multiverse will make its grand return on May 28, and The Joker is joining the roster. Even better, Mark Hamill is once again voicing the Clown Prince of Crime.

While we haven’t seen gameplay, the trailer for the movie sets up a dramatic confrontation (and an emotional reunion for fans) between Batman, voiced by the late Kevin Conroy in the game.

It marks the first game since 2018’s Lego DC Super Villains to feature actors from Batman: The Animated Series together as their characters. Conroy died in 2022, and before 2024’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the Multiverse was the final game to feature his Batman appearance. After his death, Hamill suggested Joker retires Character for good. However, dataminers uncovered the Joker’s existence in the multiverse in 2022 and found audio files revealing Hamill’s performance. This means he recorded his lines before Conroy’s passing.

The Joker is the first new character in the existing line of fighters, but he won’t be the last. We’re curious to see who else will join the fray once Multiverse re-launches on May 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
