Alan Wake 2 hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 27, but shortly before its release, developer Remedy Entertainment revealed that it will be getting a new Game Plus mode with an alternate narrative and nightmarish difficulty. . Last night during The Game Awards 2023, Remedy, who picked up three wins during the show, revealed that “The Final Draft” update, which will include the aforementioned new Game Plus mode, will go live next week.
More specifically, The Final Draft hits Alan Wake 2 on Monday, December 11. Remedy says it has a new ending to the Alan Wake story, sparking speculation and theory-building among its most dedicated fans. Plus, there’s new knowledge to discover in the form of new videos and manuscript pages.
“Players retain all weapons, charms, and character upgrades earned during their first playthrough,” a Blog post About reading the final draft. “They come in handy when you’re looking for the ultimate challenge to try the new Nightmare difficulty level. Brace yourself for an adrenaline-pumping experience that will push your skills to the limit, intense enemies, and strategic gameplay.”
You’ll find all your unlocked weapons in the first shoebox available for characters, so don’t expect to start the game with all your weapons right away.
Remedy says the final draft update also includes a number of bug fixes and minor performance optimizations, which will be further detailed in the full update notes that go live alongside Monday’s update.
The final draft update for Alan Wake 2 will go live on Monday, December 11 at 10 am PT/1 pm ET, on all platforms you can play the game on.
