Today I share with you the changes we are making to our Bethesda and ZeniMax teams. These changes are based on prioritizing high-impact titles and continuing to invest in Bethesda’s portfolio of successful games and beloved worlds that you have nurtured for many decades.
Duplicating these franchises and investing to build new ones requires us to analyze the entire business to identify the opportunities that are best positioned for success. This new prioritization of titles and resources means that some teams will realign with others and that some of our colleagues will leave us.
These are the changes that will come into effect:
- Arkan Austin – This studio will be closed and some team members will join other studios to work on projects at Bethesda. Arkane Austin has a history of creating impactful and innovative games and it’s a pedigree that everyone should be proud of. red fallThe above update will be the last one as we finished all development of the game. The game and its servers will remain online for players to enjoy and we will offer compensation offers to players who purchased the “Hero” DLC.
- Alpha Dog Studies – This studio will also close. We appreciate the team’s creativity in bringing CONDEMN to new players. Mighty DOOM On August 7th it will end and we will disable the ability for players to make in-game purchases.
- tango games – Tango Gameworks will also close. We are grateful for your contributions to Bethesda and gamers around the world. HIFI RUSH will continue to be available to players on the platforms it is today.
- round house games – The Roundhouse Games team will join ZeniMax Online Studios (ZOS). Roundhouse has played a key role in many of our recent game releases and brought them into ZOS to work on. With this consolidation of our Bethesda studio teams, so we can invest more deeply in our portfolio of games and new IP, a small number of roles on select Bethesda editorial and corporate teams will also be eliminated.

These changes are not a reflection of the creativity and skills of the talented people on these teams or the risks they took to try new things. I recognize that these changes are also disruptive to the various ZeniMax and Bethesda support teams that bring our games to market. We are making these difficult decisions to create capacity to increase investment in other parts of our portfolio and focus on our priority games.
Bethesda remains one of Xbox’s key pillars with a strong portfolio of incredible games and thriving communities. If we look to the future, there is an impressive list of games on the horizon.
