Diablo 2: Resurrected’s Patch 2.7, which will be released on May 2 at 10:00 AM PDT, is full of feature tweaks, quality of life updates, and bug fixes. One of the most exciting changes is the addition of four additional character slots to all online modes, giving players more freedom to experiment with different character configurations.

Feature modifications include the ability to reset Akara stat points and skills for ladder characters used in non-ladder based games, encouraging players to continue experimenting with their builds. To keep the community safe, an automated system has been added to the chat lobbies to remove malicious messages.

There are many gameplay improvements in Patch 2.7, starting with changes to the Next Hit Delay system. This update simplifies the concept while maintaining its original design goals, addressing headaches in multiplayer and smoothing out certain character configurations. Knockback has been removed from Bul Kathos’s Sacred Charge 2-Hand Sword, which increases the viability of the weapon and the weapon as a whole.

For druid players, direct change between Werewolf and Werebear forms is now possible, making it easier to take advantage of the Metamorphosis Rune Word bonuses. Assassins will also benefit from the patch, as their trap skills now gain from +% to their base skill’s damage modifiers. The developers have acknowledged a bug affecting lightning guards in offline Nintendo Switch games and plan to address this issue in a future patch.

Various bug fixes target Mephisto’s drop rates, crashes caused by Assassins dying on active martial arts charges in offline play, and Assassin’s Traps not taking advantage of resistance reduction in offline play. The general updates focus on fixing localization issues in multiple languages, sudden lighting changes when advancing between connected towns and regions, and the terrorist monster icon displaying correctly in different languages. The audio cues to avoid the amazon have been fixed, and several stability issues encountered while playing online have been addressed.

Ladder play improvements include fixing messages for the next ladder season, resolving issues with characters converted from ladder to non-ladder not displaying correctly, and preventing rune words exclusive to the next ladder season from being generated in the current season.

Platform-specific updates cover PC and console players. PC users will now receive a notification when the game is launched with old data extracted. Console-specific fixes address issues with displaying the friends list on Xbox consoles and the Recently Played With tab on Nintendo Switch. Translation issues with personal items in Polish and Spanish have also been resolved.

Configuration improvements have been made, such as increasing the total limit for state entries and adding new columns to different files. Mod authors are advised to include the DataVersionBuild.txt file in their mods to reduce unexpected errors between game versions.
