Publisher iMel and developers elf and DiGination to release a romantic visual novel Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer CSver for PlayStation 4 and Switch on April 18, 2024 in Japan for 5,400 yen, companies Announced. It will be distributed by the new DG REMAKE brand.
A limited edition will also be available for 8,400 yen, which includes a visual fanbook, a CD with the full track, and an acrylic stand.
Dokyusei: Hitting Summer first released on February 26, 2021 in Japan with the title Dokyusei Remake. As the title suggests, it is a remake of the visual novel first released by developer elf in 1992. An English version was released for PC via Steam and Juan on March 11, 2022.
Key features of the visual novel include:
- All CG and voiceovers redone – Portraits, event CGs, and key animations have been changed to newly drawn illustrations by Kohaku Sumeragi. Some background characters have been redesigned by an independent artist. Elements like the map screen and user interface have also been refined for the HD screen size. All voiceovers have also been recorded again.
- Console exclusive CG – Additional CGs have been created specifically for the console version. New text was also added and new event scenes were added for all characters. Wait for new scenes that you can only enjoy on Dokyusei: Bangin’ Summer CSver.
- easy mode – Easy mode is the default mode of the remake. In this mode, you can check where each heroine is located on the map, as well as a list of flags. You can also jump straight to the events, making completing the game easier than ever. (Classic mode is also available).
The announcement doesn’t mention whether the game will support English as a language option, so it probably won’t, as multi-language support is generally considered a key feature for visual novel ports.
