Check out the changelog below for details on the major improvements and fixes in this patch. Changes apply to all platforms unless otherwise specified. Fixes for previously known issues are marked with an asterisk.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Version

  • Added new display settings features.
    • The following features have been added.
    • The settings for each of these functions can be changed before and during the game.
      • (1) Smoothing
        • It can be activated or deactivated.
        • Softens the image when on, produces a sharp image when off.

      • (2) Game screen settings
        • It can be set to “Standard”, “Pixel Perfect” or “16:9”.
        • The Steam version of the game also includes a “Full Screen” feature. It can be set to a total of four settings: “Standard”, “Pixel Perfect”, “16:9” or “Full Screen”.
        • Wallpaper, display area, and screen filter functions are also available when using the “Standard” or “Pixel Perfect” functions.
        • The displayed aspect ratio may differ depending on your device/settings settings or details.

The original game image (even when letterboxed) will be enlarged to fit the 16:9 aspect ratio, according to the aspect ratio of your screen.

        • It can be activated or deactivated.
        • Applies a filter that displays scan lines like those on a CRT TV when turned on.

  • Added an audio setup feature.
    • Settings for game volume and main menu volume can be changed before playing.
    • You can only change the game volume during the game.

  • Added a controller response speed customization feature (Steam).
    • You can choose between “Fast” (new!) and “Stable”.
    • Some configurations may experience unstable performance when set to “Fast.”
    • If you experience any of these issues, change your settings to “Stable.”
  • Applied a fix for the game to prioritize button layouts set by the user (Steam).
  • Fixed some other minor issues.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Collection Master Version

  • Added an audio setup feature.
    • Settings for game volume and main menu volume can be changed before playing.
    • You can only change the game volume during the game.

  • Added a “Windowed Mode” (Steam).
    • Added the ability to switch the game to a “Windowed Mode” before playing.
    • This feature can be turned on or off by pressing Alt + Enter on the keyboard.

  • Fixed an issue where the laser pointer would not display during specific scenes (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam).
  • Fixed an issue where sea lice were not displayed correctly during certain scenes.
  • Fixed some other minor issues.

  • Added an audio setup feature.
    • Settings for game volume and main menu volume can be changed before playing.
    • You can only change the game volume during the game.

    • An issue where game video recorded using platform features does not retain a portion of the audio (Xbox Series X|S).
    • An issue where keyboard input is registered to the game even when holding down the Alt key (Steam).
  • Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Collection Master Version
    • An issue where a portion of character textures are displayed in low resolution
    • An issue where game video recorded using platform features does not retain a portion of the audio (Xbox Series X|S).
    • An issue where keyboard input is registered to the game even when holding down the Alt key (Steam).
