Sumo Group to lay off up to 15 percent of staff in effort to cut costs

Sumo Digital’s parent company, Sumo Group, will lay off up to 15 percent of its staff in Canada, the United Kingdom, Poland, the Czech Republic and India in an effort to reshape operations and reduce costs, the company said. Announced.

“While Sumo has been able to overcome many of the recent difficulties the gaming industry has faced, we have not been immune and reshaping operations across the business to better meet the upcoming challenges expected in the coming months is a path we we must take now to ensure the security of the business in the future,” the company said in the announcement.

“The difficult decision to reduce our costs across the business in a number of ways is a direct result of these challenges and will unfortunately include a reduction in the number of people the business can support. “All alternative routes are being considered to limit the impact on our people, but unfortunately this transformation process will affect up to 15 per cent of our people across the Group in Canada, the UK, Poland, the Czech Republic and India.”
