The Rebel Prince of Persia will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam on May 27, publisher Ubisoft and developer Evil Empire announced.

Here’s an overview of the game, via Ubisoft:

About

Experience fast-paced, challenging yet accessible roguelite as you master acrobatic moves and flow seamlessly between platforming and combat. Find new weapons, equip trinkets with special effects, and upgrade them to create your own builds. Discover new characters, information, and areas as you try to find a way to save Persia from an invasion by the Huns and become the hero you always wanted to be.

Key Features

  • A Persia in danger – Lead the Prince in his fight against a Hun army corrupted by dark shamanic magic and find your place in the royal family as you explore a vibrant reinterpretation of Persia. Put the puzzle pieces together and discover new areas as you delve into the fight again and again, meeting a cast of colorful characters through a non-linear story progression.
  • Become the Prince of Persia – Flow seamlessly between platforms and combat, using your acrobatic moves to outmaneuver and outsmart your enemies. Use the iconic wall run to open new attack routes, avoid traps, and explore hard-to-reach areas. Kick and dodge to manage groups of enemies when the odds are against you.
  • Adapt and improve as you go – Choose from a variety of deadly weapons and equip new medallions each match to unleash devastating effects, giving you the freedom to change your fighting style as you wish. Secondary weapons offer even more options, from bows to shields to grappling hooks. Change your equipment mid-race to adapt to new challenges.
  • Rise to meet the challenge – Unlock new weapons and medallions and learn from your mistakes to become more powerful with each kill. New challenges await you every time, as each level is procedurally generated, so no two races are ever the same.
