Fortnite is expanding its music offering with the Playwave Island Series, allowing players to earn XP and cosmetic rewards while keeping up with the tunes. From May 2, 3 PM ET to May 15, 2023, 12 AM ET, players can complete Playwave Missions on Featured Islands to earn these rewards.
A total of 11 new melodic islands will be added to the series, showcasing songs from an array of musical talent. Players can access the islands by using island tokens or by visiting Discover’s Playwave class, which will be available within the specified time frame. The first set of Playwave islands will also be shown in this row.
The Playwave Island chain now includes 16 islands, with music by artists from various genres, including hip-hop/rap, pop/rock, pop/punk, alternative, Latin R&B/soul, and dance/electronic. Artists appearing on the series include Billie Eilish, Juice WRLD, Machine Gun Kelly, GloRilla, Bas, YUNGBLUD, Imagine Dragons, WILLOW, d4vd, Cuco and Kali Uchis.
Players can earn XP for each Playwave mission they complete, which is listed in the “Playwave” section of the Missions page. By completing a certain number of Playwave missions, players can unlock two or more cosmetic rewards, such as sprays, emojis, banner icons, and a generation loading screen at once.
Playwave’s eleven new islands feature different missions, with each island associated with a specific song and creator. Some of the islands include Memory Lane, Emotion in Motion, Dirt Bike Day Dream, Dream Factory, Inferno Forge, The Vibe Ride, Rising Rhythms, A Peaceful Night, Casino Heist Payload, The Journey, and Dark City Race.
